Beat Down Boogie and Dogs of Chinatown director Micah Moore has recently began production on his latest web series, "Mario Warfare". After the successful run his previous series "Modern War Gear Solid" had, he's now taken his approach and direction towards the Mushroom Kingdom and its large cast of characters.

SYNOPSIS:

Daniel Vicente (Shawn Bernal) is Chicago's most feared hit man whose life has been disciplined by an assassin's creed of solitude and tradition. Serving as the right hand man of Patrick Keller (Chad Sheveland), the second most powerful crime lord in Chicago, Daniel has assisted Patrick into the power and status that he holds. However, when an unexpected double cross occurs during the assassination of a well-known council leader, Daniel finds himself the prime target of the fearsome Madame Lo (Allison Carvalho), leader of the triads. After finding out that Patrick approved the hit on him, Daniel is left stunned and angered. Confused, betrayed, and left with no explanation, Daniel must confront old friends and past demons, while questioning his own creed to find out who he can trust, why he was double crossed, and to ultimately find the reason of his existence.

LBP Stunts Chicago's Feature Film, "Those Who Go To Hell" to be released online as a 4 part episodic series beginning Jan. 1st, 2012!

Back in November of 2007, LBP Stunts Chicago set out to create their first feature film, with no principal budget, but full of local acting talent, the crew being the stunt team itself, and extra stunt talent flown out from across the country.

At the end of 2009, the team wrapped production after a hard, 3 year ordeal attempting to get the film done.

However, due to budget constraints, location issues, scheduling issues with actors and crew, the film was sadly never completed, and eventually, after a long discussion and brief attempts to resume filming that ultimately failed, it was finally decided to let it rest.

After a 2 year hiatus, with many of the team finally becoming union and professional stuntmen and women, LBP decided to edit the remaining footage left, and piece it together based on the original script, and release it online as the original 4 part episodic series it was intended to be.

Beginning January 1st, 2012, we will finally release a "workprint" (meaning incomplete) version of our feature film online, in 4 episodes:

The first episode and second episode will be released in January 2012.

The third episode will be released on February 2012

Finally, the fourth and last episode will be released sometime in either March/April 2012.

Again, this will be considered an incomplete version, with approx. only 85% of the film done, there are still some scenes missing or incomplete. We will do our best to ensure the original integrity of the story stays together, but we warn you that many of the scenes will be considered rough, at best.

We thank all of our supporters, cast, and crew, for their time, efforts, dedication, and talent. We hope that by viewing this film, the public will see what amazing talent we were blessed to work with, and how creative we had to be with NO budget at all, but only sheer talent and creativity from all parties.

Back in June, Emmanuel went out to collaborate and work with his fellow stunt peers out in Los Angeles, including the Thousand Pounds Action Company, whom have previously been working with LBP Stunts members (and now current Thousand Pounds members) Brendon Huor and Mickey Facchinello. After returning back to Chicago, Emmanuel quickly put out the first of 3 collaborations with the Thousand Pounds team, 1KLBP (Thousand Lazy Brown Pounds) and From Man to Man (Da Uomo a Uomo) Vol. 1.

Finally, after much time spent working, Emmanuel has compiled and released the last video collaboration, based on and adapted from 4 different anime fight sequences (Cowboy Bebop, Ninja Scroll, Samurai Champloo, and Sword of the Stranger) and compiled into a live action anime music video entitled "Boogie Woogie Feng Shui No. 5".

Because of Youtube Copyright Laws, the video was previously shown in public, but has now been blocked until further notice, due to the popular songs used in the short piece, which are owned by UMG. "Triangle" was originally a short film project for Keith Min, which featured Alex Hashioka and Shawn Bernal. The original concept was a 3 man conflict/fight between Keith and Shawn (playing gang enforcers) against a thief (Alex Hashioka) that was running out of time on his unpaid debt.

Because of the location issues with the owner of our fight location, we sadly had to scrap the project. Also, due to everyone's busy schedules, we couldn't find a time to rework it in a different area.

Though the project is unfinished, we're happy to present to you the last rough cut made, and hopefully we will find time and resources in the future to redo the project in the future. Enjoy it for what it is, and thank you for watching:

The story takes place after the Pain saga, with Naruto becoming the acknowledged village hero he's always sought out to be. Seeing Naruto become steps closer to his dream, Rock lee decides he too, must continue to grow and push his training even harder. Feeling unfulfilled in his regiment, Lee decides to challenge Naruto to a no holds barred duel in hopes to reignite his passion to become the best ninja he can be. Naruto accepts the challenge from his close friend and with this the fight is set!

Originally shot back in June on location in Los Angeles, Emmanuel collaborated with the Thousand Pounds Fight Team as well as two other stunt peers to create his take on the "martial arts western". Taken from various inspirations and sources, the concept of the characters revolve around four different regular types of thematic characters normally seen in westerns, which are The Ranger, The Outlaw, The Priest, and The Man from Nowhere. Originally, the idea was handed down for possible work, but Emmanuel was allowed freedom to create the world and characters in his way, while keeping in some key looks and ideas that were required. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy the concept, and you can view it here:

Our newest short video is a uncut excerpt of the yet to be completed short film "Midnight Club: Side A". The video features Steve Izzi and Alex Hashioka square off in downtown Chicago, and though the completed short is more of an exercise in style and flash, this fight excerpt is much more serious, focusing more on the choreography and connections between the two fighters. Nonetheless, we had a great time working with Steve (who came with Jim Ng a few months ago) and we hope you enjoy the video. You can view it here:

The 2011 Action On Film International Film Festival has passed over the weekend, with LBP members Emmanuel Manzanares, Shawn Bernal, and Anthony J. Reddix in attendance for the awards ceremony, the results are in! And they are:

The 2011 Action On Film International Film Festival has recently released their festival screening dates as well as award nominations, and the collaborative short film done by LBP Stunts and Vlad Rimburg, "Yo Soy Un Hombre Loco" has not only been chosen to be featured at the festival, but also is up for award nominations in 4 categories!

Having been in a fervent editing mode as of recent, Emmanuel has been hard at work editing all the different short fights and tests he did while out in LA with Vlad Rimburg. As of now, there have been two released. One with the Thousand Pounds Fight Team, and the other with Vlad Rimburg and Jeffrey Griffith.

Our resident German affiliate, Andreas "Andy Long" Nguyen has released his latest action reel, which showcases not only a huge depth of improvement in skill, performance, and fight choreography, but overall sets such a high bar, that many could only hope to emulate. We're proud to share his reel, and even more grateful for the time we spent working together with him. We're also grateful he has showcased some of the work we did with him! First off, we had the great opportunity about 2 weeks ago to welcome our NYC stuntpeers Jim Ng and Steve Izzi, whom came to visit to train, shoot a project, and other assorted fun. We had a great time with them within the week and a half they stayed, but we definitely got to shoot a fun project that will take some time to edit. It's our first time utilizing the limited yet able capabilities of the Canon Rebel T2i DSLR camera, but we had a blast using it nonetheless.

So without further ado, here's the video we shot on Jim's last day here in Chicago, which we decided to go for more of a nostalgic look and feel to it. We hope you enjoy! (and get inspired to sing a long, haha):

Within the video, we show segments of the intro for our newest upcoming short film project, entitled "MIDNIGHT CLUB: SIDE A"

MUSIC: "A combination of sounds, with beauty, form, and expression of emotion."

FIGHT: "A confrontation between opposing groups in which each attempts to harm or gain power over the other, with bodily force or weapons"

MIXTAPE: "A compilation of songs recorded in a specific order."

The concept behind Midnight Club: Side A, is that of merging music, visual narrative, and action performance into a visual mixtape of sorts. Music will be transitioned between 3 different realms of fighting and fight scenes, and each fight will transition accordingly based on the music's tempo or transition being used. Each fight represents a style of "fighting", from HK style, to anime/video game style, to American style, and is rooted in the concept of traditional aspects of each art, and how they go against their newer, sleeker, younger generational counterparts.
The short film is a homage to music, fighting, and visual stylization. It will be released sometime this June.

For those in the Chicagoland Area whom are interested, LBP Stunts member Keith Min is holding another Hsing-I and Tai Chi kung fu seminar at LA Boxing (located at 8 East 9th St, Chicago IL) from 1pm - 3pm on Sunday, January 16th. Keith will be going over basic Hsing-I applications, as well as going over the Lao Jia (old form) of Tai Chi. The seminar consists of:

Back in September, the team was called to do a comedic fight scene for the 8th Season of ABC Television's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" against one of the guest designers, Xzibit. However, the producers of the show felt it was too violent for a family friendly show, and instead we switched the scene around on the fly to accommodate the purpose of the episode. It's a very quick segment we shot, but thanks to the great producers of the show and Xzibit, we had a fun time working on it. The segment we were featured in was during "Day 5". Hsing-I Kung Fu Seminar hosted by Keith Min, Sunday, October 17th!

LBP Stunts member Keith Min is hosting an basic introduction to Hsing-I Kung Fu, this Sunday, October 17th, from 10am to 12pm at LA Boxing. The price for the seminar is $35 (which is CHEAP for a general martial arts seminar). LA Boxing is located at:

Keith has been studying various martial arts since the age of 7 years old, with training in various kung fu styles such as Shaolin 5 Animals (Southern), Hsing-I, Ba gua, and Wing Chun, as well as Wrestling, Boxing, and Muay Thai Kickboxing, Keith has had extensive training for over 12 years.

The seminar consists of going over the basic fundamentals of Hsing-I Kung Fu, which emphasize striking and defending simultaneously, as well as retaining a liner, yet balanced stance and base to move/attack/defend from. Keith will also go over basic applications, and why the fundamental stances and forms are key to building power and applying them for practical use. Director Micah Moore and Producer Blake Faucette have re-started the fire to push out and create their newest feature project, "Beat Down Boogie". While the concept has been out for some time now, Micah has decided to push out Beat Down with some great viral videos, online support, and action based tutorials to gain funding, support, and hopefully some backing to kick start this unique and one of a kind creation. LBP members Emmanuel Manzanares and Shawn Bernal were invited out to Raleigh, NC along with Eric Jacobus of The Stunt People to discuss the project in terms of characters and stunt sequences, and managed to shoot some quick concept fight scenes while working with Micah and Blake. New LBP Fight Practice Based On The Hit PS3 Video Game, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves!

About a month ago, we decided to do a fun exercise where the team takes an already existing product (such as a movie, tv show, or video game) and attempts to create a unique scenario and create some fight choreography around that either emulates the style of that product, or creates a new twist on it. One stunt practice later, the team decided to attempt to create a fight and action scenario for the hit Playstation 3 video game, "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves". Shot in about 5 hours, we tried our best to do the game justice in our own way, and had a lot of fun doing so in the process. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did performing it! View it here:

Aero Chicago Parkour March 27th UIC Beginners Jam Video!

This past Saturday was the first big Chicago jam for Aero Chicago Parkour, which is normally called a "Beginners Jam" to bring out folks of all types and ages to come out and learn the basics of Parkour/Freerunning. This jam was important because not only was this the first major Chicago jam without founder Ryan "Cloud" Cousins at the helm, but also the last jam of fellow traceur, Jacob "Rayxna" Carlson, whom will be attending a religious mission for 2 years in Fresno. Emmanuel and the rest of Aero Chicago Parkour dedicate the video to Jacob Carlson for his commitment and service to the community, and he will be dearly missed. We hope to welcome him home soon enough, in 2 years. This jam could have not been possible without him, or the help of fellow LBP member Alex "Fresh" Meglei, who came out to help Jacob lead the jam along with his fellow traceurs. A big thanks to both Jacob and Alex for being good leaders for the community and helping out with this jam that included nearly 100 traceurs attending.

The music heard in the video is predominately from the Samurai Champloo soundtrack, with songs by Jun Seba, aka Nujabes, whom is a indie hip-hop DJ from Japan that recently passed away last month. This was the last weekend that Andy was staying with us, so we shot quite a few things, and were also able to train with Brendon Huor in Naperville. First things first, we shot a short fight between Alex Hashioka and Andy, which you can see here:

This past Sunday, Andy and Emmanuel met up with Brendon Huor in Naperville, IL to do some stunt/fight choreography training. Brendon is one of the chief instructors at Sharkey's Karate Studio in Naperville, IL, a member of the Sideswipe Demo Team led by Matt Mullins, and also a 3 time world champion on the NASKA Circuit. He asked Andy and Emmanuel to train with him and everyone had a blast training together, resulting in more silly gags than actual stunts, which was fine by them. You can witness the fun here:

Andreas "Andy Long" Nguyen from the Magnificent Fighters Stunt Team in Germany, has been making a US tour to work with the local independent stunt teams in NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles, and for 3 weeks, he will be staying with Shawn Bernal and Emmanuel Manzanares in Chicago.

Emmanuel has recently released the second promotional trailer to "Those Who Go To Hell", which you can view here:

Synopsis:
Daniel Vicente (Shawn Bernal) is Chicago's most feared hit man whose life has been disciplined by an assassin's creed of solitude and tradition. Serving as the right hand man of Patrick Keller (Chad Sheveland), the second most powerful crime lord in Chicago, Daniel has assisted Patrick into the power and status that he holds. However, when an unexpected double cross occurs during the assassination of a well-known council leader, Daniel finds himself the prime target of the fearsome Madame Lo (Allison Carvalho), leader of the triads. After finding out that Patrick approved the hit on him, Daniel is left stunned and angered. Confused, betrayed, and left with no explanation, Daniel must confront old friends and past demons, while questioning his own creed to find out who he can trust, why he was double crossed, and to ultimately find the reason of his existence.

During the month of December, LBP member Alex Meglei was called in to do a small promo for a local company called "Enamor". They were creating design packages for local news and online stations, which feature some Parkour action. Aero Chicago Parkour group leader Jacob "Rayxna" Carlson is also featured in the promos.
